The man of steel

I had my first shots today - two needles in each leg. It was nothing. I mean, I did scream, but anyone would after having four 1 1/2-inch needles shoved in their thighs. But after that, I was fine. Daddy had to hold me while the nurse did the shots, because Mommy had to look away. I think I took the whole thing better than she did. The nurse was surprised; she said usually babies cry for five minutes after their shots. Guess they're not as tough. I have another round of shots in February. Bring 'em on, I say.
Mommy and Daddy also weighed me and measured me while we were at the health office. I'm 17 pounds, five ounces, and 23 3/4 inches. That means I gained just short of two pounds in 22 days. The nurse says that puts me in the 90th to 97th percentile for weight. She also said I'm in the 50th percentile for height. Daddy says that means I'll grow up to be built like a fire hydrant. I don't think so. I'm just getting started.

Me and Daddy

Further proof that I am The Hulk

This is me holding myself (with a tiny bit of help from Daddy). Notice the upright head. Notice me pulling myself up. Recognize I am strong. Realize I am The Hulk.

Thank yous

I've been very bad at not saying thank you for all the wonderful things I get. Recently, I've got clothes and things from Daddy's friend Debi, Mommy's friend Laura, Aunt Pat, Aunt Helen and Uncle Stan, and Grandma McAdie. I really love my new clothes, and my warm hats and mittens. I need them here. It's -20 and snowing all the time now. I don't go out very much, but I do have to go a cross the parking lot to Mom and Baby Group on Mondays.
Daddy says it's only one month to Christmas!

The big tub

I had a bath in the big boy tub today. It was fun! I liked being able to stretch out. I've outgrown my blue sink tub already. I had so much fun in the big boy bath that I screamed and screamed when it was time to get out. Daddy says the upgrades at pool at the Cariboo Memorial Complex will be done soon, so maybe I can take parent-baby swimming lessons in a little while!

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree

This is my impression of Daddy: A pen in one hand, and the other making a fist. This is how he looks at work, Mommy tells me.
Actually, I like holding the pen. It feels comfortable. It feels good. Maybe I'll be a writer just like Daddy. But pout less than he does.

There's a lot of me to love, and I don't care who sees every last bit of it

So Mommy and Daddy took me to the public nurse's office on Tuesday to weigh me. I came in at 15 pounds, 6 ounces. For those keeping score at home, that's more than four pounds more than when I was born, and almost three pounds more than I weighed one month ago.
And it was yesterday that I realized I really don't like clothes. What's the point? They're just irritating. And in the case of that pumpkin suit, downright embarassing. And seriously, the way Mommy dresses me sometimes (see the bottom picture), it's better just to go au naturel. So I'm hanging out these days in my diaper. It's all you need, really.

I went to my second Mother Goose group Monday. It was slightly more exciting than the last one. I only fell asleep at the end. But the good news for Mommy is some of the other mommies invited her out for coffee. If I'm in a good mood, maybe I'll let her.
